Away from competition, British Cycling aims to inspire millions of people to ride their bikes through various recreational programmes, all suited to meet an individual’s preferred form of cycling. They are also looking to inspire the next generation of cyclists through work with schools and community clubs to ensure that more young people are taking up the sport than ever before.
All of this activity is against a backdrop of increased political influence British Cycling looks to represent a 100,000-strong membership to influence political direction.
